Department of Family Resource Management

The first contact and exposure for every individual in this world is her/his family. The family is a socially recognized unit of people united together by marriage, kinship or legal ties. Management in the context on the family is the natural outgrowth of human associations and interactions. Its ultimate aim is to provide for optimal development of its individual members. Management of family allows us to overcome our individual limitations. Through the combination of individual efforts and resources, we achieve far more than what we could do independently. Most families are not aware of all the resources at their disposal, the quality and quantity of resources that each family has, varies.

HISTORY

The department was started in the year 1991. The combination was FRM (Family Resource Management), Sociology and Economics, later the combination changed to FRM, Human Development and Psychology.

COURSE OUTCOME
Students after the completion of the degree are able to plan and execute their goals.

In today’s changing scenario, Family resource management sets the foundation of values along with the concept of management which involves planned use of resources directed towards the achievement of desired ends. This involves the weighing of values and the making of series of decisions which are required to excel in educational goal.
