History of YRC Unit

     Red Cross was formed on 17th February 1863. It is a private humanitarian organization. The ICRA is based in Geneva, Switzerland and was founded in 1863. Originally it was a committee of five which consisted of influential Geneva families called the Geneva society of public welfare. The utilization of volunteer forces for relief assistance on the battlefield and the organization. The ICRC is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement along with the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) and National societies. With the outbreak of world war 1, ICRC found itself confronted with enormous challenges that it would handle only by working closely with the National Red Cross societies. Youth Red Cross Unit was inaugurated on 11th February 2017 by M.Mahadevappa, Chairman, Red Cross society, Bangalore and B.K Vanaja District in charge of Red Cross Society in the presence of Prof. V.K.Jose Principal, Dr. Sr. Genevieve, Administrator, and Asst.Prof. MS Sadhana Co-Ordinator Youth Red cross unit Teresian college Mysuru.

Vision:-To improve the lives of vulnerable people in India and internationally by mobilizing the power of Humanity.

Mission:-The Mission of YRC to prevent alleviate suffering with complete impartiality, making no discrimination as to nationality race, sex religious believes language class or political opinions.
