The Department was started in the year 1963 headed by Prof. Sri Rangamma followed by Dr. R. S. Mangalakumari who followed her footsteps and cherished the branches to bloom and blossom. The Department offers language Hindi through the skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening to its stake holders. The department has now grown manifold in terms of student strength, accolades and publications since its inception.
