Department of Zoology Field Visits

Field trips provide experiential learning for students. Field trips also provide students the opportunity to take a break from their normal routine and experience more hands on learning. Places like zoos and nature centers often have an interactive display that allow students to learn better.

As part of the Endocrinology and reproduction practical syllabus we took V semester zoology students to Speciality Veterinary Hospital, Dhanvanthri road, Mysuru on february 20,2021to study Artificial Insemination and to prepare a report.  

Dr. Anil, gynaecologist explained the process and methods of artificial insemination in cows, equipments used, semen storage unit. Dr. Yeshwant, surgeon took us to operation theatre and explained about the new equipment and facilities available to treat and operate the small animals.

Students had an opportunity to visit the hospital and study the methods of Artificial insemination and to interact with the doctors and clarify their doubts. This visit was very useful and informative for students. Students were accompanied by two faculty members Mr. Vivek Charles and Ms. Kavitha R S.  Later students prepared a report and submitted for evaluation during practical examination.
